The Franklin County Sheriff's Department and Correctional Facility is
a state of the art facility utilizing computerized state of the art
technology .The jail can house 140 inmates from Federal, State and local
agencies. The facility also has the capabilities to be add another
66 inmates utilizing a pre-built pod system that comes pre-wired and
can be set into place minimizing construction time.
We also have a state of the art communications facility. It is equipped
with a Computer Aided Dispatch Computer System, Tennessee Information
Enforcement Computer System, Racal digital multi-channel recording system,
National Center for Missing and Exploited Childrens locater system and
Motorola multi-channel consoles. All this is housed at the Emergency
Management under ground bunker facility near the Sheriff's
Department.
AEDC is a state of the art test facility located on 40,000 acres at Arnold
Air Force Base in Franklin and Coffee Counties. AEDC is an integral
part of the Air Force Material Command. AEDC researches, develops, tests
and acquires weapons for the U.S. military and sustains those systems
through their life cycles. President Harry Truman dedicated Arnold Engineering
Development Center on June 5th,1951. Since then, AEDC has contributed
to the development of nearly every national aerospace program. The center
operates 53 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket motor and
turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters,
ballistic ranges and other specialized units.
Nissan Motor Manufacturing Corporation U.S.A. is located in Decherd,
Tennessee. Nissan produces power trains for their North American products
to include the Sentra, Altima and the Quest. They are currently expanding
from their present 235,000 square feet, to approximately 1 million
square feet .
